“What if it rains?” is an obvious worry for not just outdoor weddings, but for indoor ceremonies as well… And if there’s just a hint of the dreaded black clouds come wedding day, uh oh, there goes everything! But is that really true?
      Rain: It's the four letter word every bride-to-be having outdoor wedding fear the most. Even with a plan B, the thought of bad weather on your big day is enough to give any girl an anxiety attack. But what if the heavens opening up actually turned out to be a blessing in disguise. 
         Sure, not everything will go according to wedding plan and a few hiccups may occur (will occur) – after all, It’s really not anyone’s first choice to ask for rain on their big day. However, on a list of all the things to worry about, rain on your wedding day doesn’t figure. Not unless you let it!
        It’s all about wedding preparation and perception, and having a blast even if it rains! Here’s why rain shouldn’t bother you in the slightest:

        There is more than one right way to look at things, so rain on your wedding day. For the superstitious, they’re not dark clouds, they’re a divine way to shower blessings, they’re cleansing, a wet knot is difficult to untie – hence a sign of strong bond, etc.  
         In some cultures, rain on your wedding day is actually considered a sign of good luck! Not only is it supposed to signify fertility, but it also represents a long-lasting marriage and the washing away of tough times (you know, like that awful relationship you had before you met your hubby).

2. It gives your guests something to talk about
       There's nothing like a little rain to bring a group of people together. "There's just something about the environment that inspires a feeling of camaraderie in guests, leading to more attentiveness, participation and fun for everyone,”.
           If you’ve got an outdoor setup well, the sight of grey skies and drizzle isn’t really going to put you off, is it? It’s good, however, to prepare and plan well – Have umbrellas (have a ball with decorating them, if you’ve the time), gazebo/pavilion arrangements, hot drinks, a photo-booth with gumboots, fancy hats and rainproof jackets… so that the rain only adds to the fun!

3. It makes your wedding memorable
         No doubt about it, guests always remember a rainy wedding. And if you do it the right way, it will be a fond memory at that. 5. It's the absolute best for photos
    If you've ever seen wedding photos captured in the rain then you know exactly what we're talking about. "The mist and the soft light look so romantic and can't be easily recreated on a sunny day,". Not to mention all the great props you can use, like clear umbrellas and colourful rain boots. Many photographers will even tell you that they actually prefer shooting on a cloudy or rainy day.
       Ever seen a wedding album with a few shots taken in the rain? At the risk of sounding melodramatic, they are some of the most jaw-dropping, breathtaking couple portraits… ever. Rain carries the emotion of love and romance like nothing else. The silhouettes, the shades of grey, the rustic backdrops, and perhaps, even a rainbow.
