Photography has been through many changes over the previous years- it has changed drastically and shows no sign of slowing down. While it is necessary to be unique and authentic in your photography, it is equally necessary to embrace the latest trends in this ever-changing industry.

1. Black & White
Modern wedding photography also finds new ways to use classic techniques. Black and white photography was all the rage 15 years ago but became less popular as couples started to favour bright and colourful images. The latest in black and white photography is a bit moody, using the light and background scenery to create an unforgettably romantic picture.

2. Drone Photography
While you might not think of drones and weddings going well together, they are actually really useful tools in capturing angles and heights that your photographer simply can't reach. Perfect for a bird's eye view of a stunning tablescape or to showcase your amazing destination setting (shown here), drones are becoming an absolute necessity in modern wedding photography.

3. Pre-Wedding Events
Some of your favourite wedding moments don't even take place on your wedding day. It's the champagne toast at your bridal shower, or when your nephew knocked over a tray of cupcakes at the rehearsal dinner. Recently, couples have opted to hire their wedding photographer for more than just their main event, so that all of their best memories can be celebrated.

4. Real Candid Shots
Gone are the days when photographers shoot pictures using a film with the pressure of getting it perfect in the first shot. They used to take the print of only those photographs where everyone has made special poses. But with the advanced technologies and the flexibility of digital media, photographers have the freedom to the number of shots that can be captured. They prefer shooting authentic candid photographs that capture every expression of the bride, the groom and their relatives throughout the big day.

5. Stunning Elopements
Gone are the days of elopements meaning that you have to sacrifice the dress and flowers and all the rest of the magic. Modern elopements are merely more intimate versions of traditional weddings. When it's just the two of you, it's all the more important to record the moment. Hire a photographer to take beautiful shots of your highly personal day.

They say one needs to work hard in order to reach great heights. But for Thrissur native Vishnu, a photographer by profession, this saying turned out to be literally true. Vishnu climbed a tree in pursuit of the perfect frame and a video of his acrobatic skills made him famous overnight.

Not only did the 23-year-old climb up a tree, but he also balanced himself upside down from a branch, so that he got the frame he envisioned. The video shows Vishnu, after clicking the photograph from the tree, asking the groom to hold his camera, while he effortlessly jumps down and walks away like a boss!
